I find it very annoying when BYBs breed mix bred dogs, and then call them odd names as if they were purebreds. I mean, doodles are one thing, and in a way they almost are a breed, but when you start calling your puppies 'Frugs' it has gone to a whole new level! Why not just call them a lovely...

Like a website where you can search for all dogs needing homes? There is one of those, I'll go and have a look whats on it.

There are a lot of puppies for sale, but it is quite rare that there are many older dogs being re-homed. Maybe it partly just because the doodles tend to be the most expensive, so people only get them when they are going to keep them...?

I guess its good, although it has always puzzled me. I wouldn't have thought they all stay in their homes, so where do they go?

I like odd mixes the most, in the mid size range. Our two are a female Shar Pei x Australian Cattle dog, and a male something mix. (maybe lab, pointer, kelp, who knows!)

Oddly enough, there never seems to be very many here. When we were looking for our two dogs, there weren't any in our area, and when ever I've browsed the RSPCA website there hasn't been any. I don't know why? There are heaps for sale on gumtree from BYBs.

Lots to read in this thread! My take on doodles, is that personally I really like them, but would never buy one. At a dog park the other week, I met a really nice pair of them, so well behaved, lovely coats. If I was looking for another dog, and there was one in a rescue, I might well get it...
