Dog abuse of any kind makes me sad. There's so much out there. I personally don't like a lot of "training" techniques. I raise and treat my dogs like they are young children as far as learning. Repetition, and reward goes a lot further than any correction type training.
That's a lot of dog. Ones I saw were a giant lab, a giant weimaraner and either a sheepadoodle, or aussiedoodle. It was huge and had blue eyes. Too much dog for me. I can fit more smaller dogs in compared to keeping a giant. I like quantity. :)
I keep a couple as bodyguards to me and the smaller breeds. Although after my trip to the vet on Monday mine are probably considered medium size compared to what i saw. It apparently was big giant dog day.
I've read Italian greyhounds can break legs when young jumping off furniture. Not sure if the whippet is more sturdy. Are you sure you don't need another Boston? I do highly recommend them mixed with French bulldog. They are a bit less hyper.
I try to pair breeds that will get along and play in a similar manner. Some breeds just play differently and don't always connect.
It's one reason I like keeping a pack as there's always someone who is a good fit for each dog's playing style.
Pepper the aussie was very rough on Shorty when...
When Shorty was at that teenage phase she suddenly stopped coming when called. I just left her standing there, and went in the house, and closed the door. A few moments later I opened it up, and she immediately ran in. Boston's don't like to leave their owners, so that was short lived for...
High reward treat, whatever that is for her, and lots of high pitched praise. Don't ever be angry when they come to you. Most go through a phase where they refuse to come even if they learned it well. Just need to continue with positive reinforcement.
Boston's are a very diverse breed. They range in weight from 15 to 25 pounds and I've even seems some 10 pound Boston's, and some 40 pound Boston's. Your beautiful Dory is a petite lady and is gorgeous. You keep her in great shape.
I think a Boston is in a good weight when you can't see the...
