My granddaughter and I drive to AL over the weekend and picked up 16 lavender EE. Six are a week old and ten were hatched Saturday night. Here are a few: Day old: Week old. Note light barring on wings.

Oh .. so I haven't named the Gems, I can't tell them apart. But the Eggers are, Thing One and Thing Two (the two partridge ones), Winnie and Trudy as introduced above, and Spook, the Faverolle, because she started out white.

They are about 5 weeks old here. Mostly these are the Sapphire Gems, they are very bold and confident. The little white/red one is one of the Eggers and the light grey one may also be. Not sure, I know one of the Eggers is disguised as a Gem!

This really wasn't their fault. It was just a perfect storm.... they could not know shipment would not take place on Friday due to the holiday. Heck, EVEN THE LOCAL POST OFFICE didn't know! They believed St Louis would be sending another or additional trucks on Friday, Saturday and even Sunday...

Yes, they did make it to the PB PO this morning. They called me about 9:15, but ... there were no survivors. :hit I called Hoover's to tell them that I had not accepted the shipment, and why, and they are sending me a reshipment next MONDAY. Hopefully all will go as planned. Poor little things.🙁😢
