Thank you all for the words of sympathy they were greatly needed.
Once again God has taken a terrible event and provided us with something good.
Our local farm store had just received a new order of chicks yesterday, and we brought home 5 little fuzzy pullets to give our love to. Welcome home...
Today was supposed to be a joyous day as our order was scheduled to be delivered. The delivery came on time in less than 24 hrs, but my entire order had deceased.:hit
I know this thing could always happen, but the devastation of emotions it caused when opening up the box was unbearable. We...
Lovely! You have a nice variety of chicks.
We are looking forward to warm weather so I can get the grow out pen started for the new little ones. Keep us posted as your chicks grow, would love to see what colors you end up with on the EE's.
I am so so so sorry for those little ones and for you as well. It is so difficult to wait so long and find out your worst fears came true. I will never have the words to comfort you, our hope comes from and ends with God alone. In this time of mourning we look for reasons of "why", I know HE...
I'm glad we ordered early, as we found the same issue with them running out of pre-orders for specific breeds, I sure hope we get what we requested, but any little fuzzies will be loved :)
Lucky! Please post them here when they come in! I think I'm having withdrawals after growing out our current girls, and who doesn't enjoy seeing all those little fuzzy butts :)
Great choices by the way.
That sounds like a good plan and fun, we toiled with the notion to hatch a small batch but we can't have a Rooster and the chances of all eggs being Pullets....well you know how that would go, as good as the Las Vegas Raiders winning the Super Bowl this year.:lau
That is awesome, truly an unusual breed but striking.
Our next breed is going to find someone who breeds true Vorwerk, love the coloration and demeanor of this breed.
I've never seen a Tsouloufati, do you have a picture you could share, I'd love to learn more about them. If we had the space I sure would hatch our own, but we are limited to a max of 15 in the city so I'll max out soon!
I'm always nervous anytime I have our babies shipped, but we are getting a small batch mailed this time and they always seems to take good care of the small batches in my opinion and they typically come in very healthy.
Good choices by the way!
Those sound awesome! I also didn't want to wait like last year, most breeds were sold out and had very little to choose from. I almost added a few Swedish Hens as well, chicken math could take hold before my shipment and who knows what might end up in the basket!
I just placed our newest order for babies from Myers today! I know, I know, but I wanted a few special breeds and such so I had to pull the pin and get my order in. Anyone else already placing orders for 2024, if so what's on your shopping list?
Ordered Speckled Sussex, Blue Americana, and...
