I am posting this link to a very necessary petition. As many of you know, SoCal is dealing with the Newcastle's outbreak. Well on Friday a family with a backyard flock had their PERFECTLY HEALTHY FLOCK KILLED!They were...
Haven't been on in s while..but YES!!! Newcastle's quarantine is still going and expanding! At this point, it would be wise to protect your flock and not allow birds in or out of your property. Just not worth the risk of losing your ENTIRE flock over adding a few new ones. It's a sad day when...
Unfortunately yes! It's so sad that in attempting to get rid of the disease, they will just kill a person's entire flock....even if they test negative for the disease! If you are unfortunate to live in a hot zone with a flock testing positive ....your flock is at risk for being euthanized just...

I live up on the mountain :frow I do get fertile eggs from down the hill and have had good hatches. We just have to keep the humidity higher than down the hill because it is lower humidity up here. If you are putting them under a broody girl...then there may be an issue:rolleyes:
Not that I have ever heard of? Where are you buying your feed? And where are you located? Maybe some SoCal folks can recommend a better supplier in your area? I get mine from TSC but I live in the mountains and this is the closest place for us when we travel down the mountain
