    Should I be worried?

I definitely will xx We love all the girls, & my little roo is my fav, but this beautiful girl is extra special to us, because very shortly after we got them, she managed to get herself stuck in some fencing...she was hanging by only her neck & was very very close to dead when we went to check...

    Should I be worried?

Thank you for all the advice, I've successfully given her the first dose of extra calcium, & it was so much easier than I thought it would be! Probably helped she thought she was getting a treat the others miss out on 😅 Hopefully this is all that is needed to sort out whatever is going on 🤞🏼...

    Should I be worried?

Ok, thank you x She is very friendly, & morning will be better for me....it's already too cold for me to go back outside & I'm showered & in my pjs 😅 Fingers crossed she doesn't hate me afterwards 🤞🏼

    Should I be worried?

Sounds easy enough...I just know the fight the cats put on 😬 Maybe a silly question, but should I start tonight as she going to bed, or in the morning when she is hungry & demanding treats?

    Should I be worried?

I have the tablets pictured on hand, could I do a half tablet & that be ok? Also...if I just put it in her beak & hold closed for a minute will that work?

    Should I be worried?

Thank you, I did see calcium tablets recommended, but wasn't sure if there were any specifically for chickens. I'd be keen for dosing info etc though & definitely give it a try x

    Should I be worried?

I've just read this article now, thank you for sharing. I noticed it mentions molting perhaps being a cause of this....which would I guess be the least stressful cause? She is in fact molting, so other than adding some vitamins to her water for the next little while, I'm guessing it safe to just...

    Should I be worried?

Thank you!! I'm so glad someone understood what I was trying to explain, that is exactly what is was, a soft, but strong partly formed shell! She has laid 2 perfect eggs since, but now this morning, another egg exactly the same as the one mentioned...so it isn't a once off... If this is a...

    Should I be worried?

It was more so 'crunchy' than it was squishy. It was very odd 🤷🏻‍♀️ But she seems to be ok, so I will just keep an eye on it x

    Should I be worried?

It had a shell, it just had not hardened. But she does get scrambled egg with shell, twice a week, aswell as access to grit every single day. Im hoping it just a once off glitch anyway, today her egg is perfect again.

    Should I be worried?

This is the other x 'Elsa & Ana' 🥴 Elsa is abit lighter skinned than Ana, & her head feathering different. Both great layers though.

    Should I be worried?

Thank you x That explains why her head wasn't matching other satins I looked at. The other like her has slightly different feathers on her head. They are the sweetest girls ❤️

    Should I be worried?

Also, any ideas what she is? Someone said maybe a satin silkie? But comparing her to pics of others, I second guess that.

    Should I be worried?

Thank you x Fingers crossed it just a once off fault 🤞🏼 For my own knowledge, what would you recommend she needs if this does happen again? I always read that chickens will seek out the things they need, ie calcium, & so long as it provides they would get what they need? She definitely does...

    Should I be worried?

Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to upload a video....but it was dry & felt like it was 'cracking' as touched. It felt a little like a meringue does, & felt like it would just 'crumble'...however it took quiet a bit to actually 'crack' it open. As for calcium, what do recommend, given she...

    Should I be worried?

So in all my years of keeping chickens, I've never found one like pictured 🤔 Given where I found it, I know who laid it, & she is by far my friendliest, loudest, bossiest girl, & seems to be in great health. She lays daily. Has done pretty much since I rescued her. They get lots of variety, 18%...
