thanks. Mine get 1 mug of pellets day (mixed with maize in winter) lettuce, cucumber and either sweetcorn, or melon minus the pips (wont eat them) and a handful od mealworms lunchtime. Again mine are free to forage a small area of garden and weekends we open the rest of the garden to them...
I say stick to runners. Ducks are hardier than hens. In my oppinion. They lay just as many eggs if not more. Don't mind the rain. I got 3 runners, and are home alone during week days. Doesn't seem to bother them and live in our back garden.
Anyone in Wales got a drake duckling for sale? I'm looking or one. I want to raise it by hand and then introduce it in with my 3 females. Not worried about colour. My females are about 2yrs old and are indian runners. Im not really looking to breed, just as a companion.
