My little blue Silkie Hen, Iris, has decided that she wants to be a Mamma. She has been setting and setting, I finally gave her 4 eggs this morning. I checked the nests this afternoon, and she now has 8. Little Rascal!
I went to TSC and got sucked into the baby craze! Came home with 6 Khaki Cambells. Don't really know how that happened...
They'll have to get used to us, they are ever so skittish. I am used to silkie chicks flocking to me the second they see me. Are there any treats that they will...

My grow out pen.....sassy little munkins.

Julia, my lovely white broody, officially pecked me today for attempting to snatch an egg out from under her. I was glad to see a little attitude Although, "Miss America" keeps sneaking into the nest and laying.
Great Article! Thanks.

Thanks, I am pretty excited to have a hen doing the work for me. Julia is still in the pen with the rooster and another hen, should I remove her and the eggs from the pen or the other two birds so Julia won't be disturbed? Or can they all just stay where they are, will the other two be ok...
