I am feeling very lucky! I make sure the chicken have plenty of fresh water but it hasn't been over 80 where I live and that was only one day. I think I am taking it worse than the hens. The 70% humidity is killing me, but I guess it is still better then then we lived in MI.
gosh and I thought it was funny because my husband is from ca and I lived there for three years. He lives there now because of the coast guard but will be home in Oregon for good in one month. I hope I didn't hurt anyone's feelings.
I would invest in an automatic chicken door. You should have enough time to fine tune it to open and close when it should and it would keep your chicken safe from predators at night.
I have 3 roosters I need to re-home. 1 Black Copper Maran, 1 Dorking/BCM Mix and 1 Olive egger. The olive egger is 75% BCM and 25% EE.
Edited to add they are 12 weeks old.
AyeUpChuck is her name on here. She is in Beavercreek. She isn't an old-timer but she breeds turkeys and hens. I'm sure she could give you some help. The problem is she is super sick with Pneumonia right now. I would still try to contact her and see what she has to say...
My girlfriend has 2 pygmy goats and 5 chickens in the same house/run. she is going to need to separate them because there isn't any grass left and the goats need grass.
I think the are only two kind of hens that have five toes and one is faveroll. I don't remember what the other is but I am sure she has at least 75% faveroll.
Oh my goodness I'm sorry that your first two hens are having such problems.I would make eggs or oats and then put the antibiotic in the food after it cools a little. They'll never know it's in there.
