Hey guys, I have a friend who is new to peeps, she just hatched a few eggs of mine 2 weeks ago. She's wanting some lavender orpingtons, but is having trouble finding them. We are in OC, is there anyone close who has some hatching eggs or day olds?
I don't know much about guineas, but I started with 2 and they didn't make it. Maybe it was too cold for them, they couldn't huddle together for warmth? My friend who has them always has 8-10 of them hanging together.
Hello, I don't have any coops or runs, but I may be hatching some chicks in the spring, depending on if my girls are laying. I have pure Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana and a bunch of mutts ;)
I'm in Ocean City, but should have hatching eggs then. I could either send them with my husband one day when he's headed to DC, or we could meet somewhere between here and there. Contact me early next year and I'll let you know if my girls are laying.
Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I just purchased and started incubating some Serama eggs. They're developing beautifully. I'm not sure what I'll end up with, I tend to hatch more males, sadly, but, hope to have some hatching eggs by year end. Want me to let you know when I do?
I have a sweet female, but no rooster. There are some nice serama roosters in southern maryland, but I'm not heading over there anytime soon. If you go get one, I'll give you some eggs or hatch some for you :)
Do you want pullets or chicks?
nm, I just saw your answer.
Farm stores are still getting them in. Give tractor supply and southern states a call and see if they're getting any. Also, I see tons on craigslist.
I was at the farm store in Berlin today and they had some ducklings. Many different kinds. Give them a call in the morning and see what they have left, I bet they'll still have some!
Hi!
Sorry, no ducks. I had a friend who had some and, although I was impressed with their eggs, I wasn't impressed with their mess!
My neighbor may raise them, I'll ask him. Which breeds are you interested in?
Well, I breed them, but I don't have any pullets and I don't really have a farm. But, I could hatch some in a couple of months and they may be laying by early next year - Ameraucana tend to take at least 7 months to begin to lay. Not ideal for you, I know. I'm also on the Eastern Shore. But...
We have all of those and more nearby too. I love them. I remember noticing the noise the first few days we lived here, and I notice them when they sound an alarm at night, but honestly, I'm so used to them I don't hear them at all most of the time. I say go for it!
I got mine from peachick, that's her username here. She's up near Gettysburg, and her birds lay almost a turquoise egg. Her website is Signature Feathers.
I thought I would offer to you guys before I did on craigslist:
I have 3 wheaten ameraucana cockerels that I would love to find good homes for. I am willing to let them go for $5 each, but they were raised by a broody and haven't come anywhere close to puberty yet, so they're wanderers. I...
Kevin,
Welcome! I grew up on the shore and love it. Now live just west of Berlin and spend the majority of my time in the vicinity. If you live in the town limits, you probably can't have any chickens. I believe my friend who lives in town looked into it and figured that out. There's a...
