Is anyone here on the Eastern Shore? I want to know if they have purchased anything from a place that sells chickens in Parksley, VA. I am in Snow Hill, MD.
They both do fine In the summer as long as you have shade And plenty of water. Both breeds are definitely winter hardy. My uncle had a Buff Orpington given to him from my Grandfather. She lived to be 14 or 15 Without a coop.
I have a large variety of large fowl chickens. The majority of my flock consists of Australorps, Blue and Splash Marans, Dominques, Minorcas, and Welsummers. There are 26 other breeds on our small farm.
Just thinking about the hawks. Most of the birds that have been hawk victims are out in the open a lot more. We let our flyers do what they do best. The fly up and roost in the trees when not foraging. I think this breed will be fine. We have plenty of trees, and places to hide.
I thought about that after I said that I would take her. I wish that she was a golden. Hopefully the Andalusians and Anconas will let her hang out with them. Those 5 are usually close together.
I love both of those. Anconas and Minorcas also have a place in my heart. I prefer the Rose Comb Browns over any other Leghorn. The Augsburger is growing on me. My new white layer is an experiment. She is a Hamburg has not arrived yet.
TSC will allow you to order. They only carry what they can in-store so they can get rid of merchandise. The Leghorns do not eat much either. If you want one that will forage go for a any leghorn except the white.
We use pallets to make just about anything. Sometimes my husband rides around looking for pallets. The projects just keep piling up on us and the snow has brought them to a hault. By the way I like you avatar. Are those your eggs? If so, who laid the pink bloom ones on the right?
