    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

I know it will come off. Very evident that it will. I just read that it should have by now from everything I have read. Maybe the little bit of blood flow she did have kept it from happening sooner. It was hard to tell for awhile. As her foot was a completely solid ice block when I found her. I...

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

Definitely a lot slower than what research said that's for sure. I was sure hoping it would go faster for her as I know it has to be uncomfortable and probably painful but I'm uncomfortable giving her any sort of pain reliever for that long. I don't even like taking it myself.

@Allsfairinloveandbugs @Wyorp Rock Here's what's her foot looks like right now. Still a process. Definitely taking its time.

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

She's only one toe. The foot wants to come off but still hasn't just yet. It's been a very slow process for her. She's still doing good though. She's walking, exploring small distances but puts herself back he safe place after about 10 minutes, and lays eggs frequently. She's still thin though...

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

We are looking into getting her a prosthetic but of course a lot want us to measure the nub first ordering which we don't have yet. She'll be unhappy not being able to move well again once it goes so I'm trying to measure the best I can now for her. I know she's starting to hurt more because she...

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

Definitely isn't. She's feisty and sometimes trying to get a picture of the foot is hard.

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

I think she will still. She wasn't having any part of me taking pictures of her foot yesterday but I got some this morning.

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

Update on Nubz: she still favors her foot but she walks on it with a limp, flies out of shed/coop where she's the only one allowed to roam free (we keep babies, quail, and bunnies in there), she laid an egg the other day, and she goes to visit her old run and lays outside of it which is up a hill.

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

Thank you. It's a chicken vet page so I'm surprised they aren't responding but that's why I asked I'm several places just to make sure all information matches up or to make sure I get correct information, but also that what I read matches up. I don't want to hurt my chickens. I do a lot of...

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

We've pretty much figured we have a house chicken. She happy inside. We already looked at a prosthetic foot for her. Thanks. I wanted to double check that I was doing everything right. Other groups told me to give her antibiotics now for it but I read it better to wait until the foot comes off...

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

She has been going out on nice days. We made a pen for her next to a rooster that's mean (he's in his own pen for now but he's about to get his own girls soon) and she took herself there when we let herself roam to wherever she wanted. We covered it so hawks couldn't get her while she's out...

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

I just saw this, but I this exactly this. This is what her foot looks like now. Not sure what I should do for her now. She isn't putting any pressure on it for the most part as I know that hurts but she's full of life and actually responds to her name and plays peekaboo with the dogs in the tote...

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

I would never pop it. I know that's painful already for her. I have spray and sprayed especially with one that popped already. I'm worried about being gone for a couple days. She's in house in a warm clean tote. I do have meloxicam I can give her if that'll help. I can't remember the dosage though.

    Frostbite/Frozen Foot

Last week we had subzero temps come through and we took precautions but one hen somehow got her foot caught in the door. When I found her it was frozen solid (like a rock). She was able to stand on it until a day ago when blisters startered. One popped and the other hasn't yet. I know there's a...
