Dominique's or Barred Rock's?? Att: Speckled Hen

You all have so dang many pictures I can't load but I finally got this on...

This is a picture of a Dominique, probably at a show. So anyways...

The only thing I can see that you need to work on is the combs aren't to specs... that shouldn't be a problem just sell, give away or cull the birds that don't have that nice rounded pea comb. There should be no spikes on the comb at all, in either sex.

Combs should be nicely rounded with a slight flair at the end. Check out the image and google images of your bird..

You will see that the pink legged bird is a barred rock and you should tell the people you got them from that they are not, up to par. In the picture the lady holding the dominique he has near mustard colored legs so your chickens need work on that area as well. Generally you can tighten up the breed genetics by breeding father to daughter and Mothers to sons. Good luck...
