I have had my new hens for about 3 weeks, they are a year and a half old.

Lately their poops seem a little runny, and one of them has a dirty hiney. I wonder if this is because I have been giving them lots of treats? That perhaps they are not used too?

They act fine, lay eggs, and run around and seem happy.

What should I do?

One of the 'elders' here on the board wrote somewhere that giving them fresh vegetables can give them a runny poo. So unless there is anything else wrong with them, it's probably them adjusting to a more lavish banquet.

That's good to hear, and I have been giving them a lot of treats.

You know, I like to spoil them and I have a bunch of tomatoes and overgrown cucumbers in the garden now.

I was thinking it all started when I gave them an over ripe pineapple that a former chicken owner saved for me to give them. I didn't think they would eat it but they loved it!

I will back off the veggies for now and see if that helps. They really do seem fine otherwise.
