Keeping bees can be a very expensive hobby.
Yup. I think we have over $1000 into it. About $350-400 is for the plants I bought for them. I wouldn't have bought these particular plants -- or even heard of them! -- if it weren't for the bee club meetings.

And we left them all the honey last winter (our first winter), so the harvest has been zilch. So far.

The girls better put out this year! :lau
