I have SO MANY EWO. They've completely taken over a 4'x4' area of a bed and continue trying to spread to the other half of the bed. I started thinking them out this year by giving some to my mother for her new garden. I could easily take out 4 or 5 times as many. -

Could you double Up the siding to overlap the existing board? Running overlapping boards vertically would be even better. Definitely put a board across the edge of the roof. -

Getting plenty of cicadas. I was curious about nutritional value. I was hoping their shells were rich in calcium, but it's just fiber. Plenty of value in the actual cicada though. The chicks are out of the dog crate and in the coop with A'hole and the rooster. So far, so good. They've spent roughly the last two weeks seeing but not touching. Fingers crossed everybody gets along!- BReeder!

Peas are growing. Should be picking them any day now. Picked one today just for the heck of it. Small sweet peas inside. DD sized the opportunity to eat her first fresh pea of the year. She doesn't touch them cooked, but loves popping pods in the garden and devouring fresh peas. Cut the grass... -

I will likely add the hardware cloth eventually. Winter is when the possums are the most aggressive it seems. I assume it's that their food supply is limited. So perhaps I'll try to get hardware cloth up before then. The automatic door helps too though as it closes in the evening just as the...- BReeder!

Went to Menards yesterday to grab a 6 pack of tomatoes because we had some room still. DD went with. We came home with 4 6-packs of flowers, 2 6-packs of tomatoes, catawba grape bare root, concord grape bare root, 2 thornless raspberry bare roots, and two bags of chips, which came from a stop... -
First Egg!!
No guess here, but a little experience worth sharing. The coloring isn't always perfect on the first egg. Even the shape can be weird. Double yolks are also possible, but I never had a double yolk in my duck eggs personally. The bird's body is figuring it out still. -
