    New to raising chicks

assuming that your temperatures don’t get below 40*F, then they can go out now without any heating. Even if you do wait until 6 weeks, I would take away there heating as they will be perfectly fine without it. Just adds one more thing that could potentially go wrong.

    Mille fleur d'uccle coop size?

I still feel that they require at least 2.5 sq feet in the coop and 8 sq ft in the run (bare minimum). I don’t really understand what you are asking about with the dog crates. Could you make a visual of it and explain it a bit more clearly?

Poll on flock toys — please answer if possible!

Following along as I have been wondering about this because it seems pretty split on if chickens will use them But one of my mine really enjoys her swing. I say her swing as none of the others use it

Yep! He is a scaleless DH albino leucitic. He is a really friendly and curious little noodle who enjoys people watching (aka watching everyone who walks by) and is a great eater. And that is awesome you have one as well! The such great pets imo.

14 week Easter egger - hen or roo?

Same thing happened to me. One of my chicks was named Princess and you guessed it, she is actually a he. But he is a Brahma so I can’t say I am not looking forward to having a 12 pound giant rooster with the most dainty name imaginable 🤣

    Broody Hen Question

At 9 weeks old it is perfectly capable of fending for itself and its mom knows that. Just leave it alone for a few days and will most likely start to get used to being part of the actual flock and not just with its mom.

    How Bad Are Snakes?

Snakes are actually great! I hope I help you learn a bit more throughout this article! I hope to continue to add on to it every once in a while but I feel this is a good starting point that has a good amount of information. If I don’t cover something you would like to know or would like...

    Cross beak

If she is eating, drinking, and growing well then I would just keep a close eye making sure none of that changes. If she seems to begin struggling to eat or drink or it looks to be overgrown then I would try to file down but if she is doing well I personally wouldn’t want to potentially mess...

    Dawg’s Party Thread!!!!

Going on an a 6 hour drive so not very happy. I would much rather be sitting with my chickies instead of sitting on my phone. We did get chick-fil-a though so I am happy. And still waiting for the promised dessert 🤣

    Roo or hen?

With how little development the wattles and comb have, it is looking to be a pullet

Is this snake in my coop harmful

Well technically there are isolated localities of garter snakes that have adaptations that have been cause from generations of eating poisonous toads and salamanders which causes them to “hold onto” said poison. There are also others that are technically poisonous as well but this is my favorite...
