I have a spinal cord stimulator implanted, it's 2 electrical leads in my epidural space & a battery pack just below my waist. It sends out electrical impulses that confuse/interrupt the pain signals to the brain. It's been a life saver. I also have hardware from previous surgeries. You can...
I have tried every single type of lavender ever grown. It hates me. :lau Next time I go to the garden store I'll pick up another tho. I always do, then I swear off it, then I try again.
It's only 11 & I have gotten so much done. I love my new back electronics, my back is hanging in there...
I do but I can't get it to live thru the winter here. :hit Technically it should, & sometimes it will live one winter just to die the next. I tried to start some from seeds this year but the seeds were very old.
Oh, I meant to ask you bee people - do you have a bee waterer you can recommend for me to put in the garden? I see they make little cup one, ones with marbles, little stairs for a bird bath, etc. Is any one better - are some just gimmicks?
I ordered a SS hose too, should be here tmrw. I got a 4 way splitter for the garden at TS tonight, I'm so excited I won't have to water a thing, just flip some valves. :yesss:
Of course while I was in TS their seeds were on clearance so I might have gotten a whole bunch of all sorts of...
That didn't last long. :lau
The thought of cucumber beetles just creeps me out.
I got all the soaker hoses in too, one day I'll get an irrigation system in. I just need like a 5 foot piece of connector hose to go from tomatoes to cukes & I'll have it all down to 3 zones.
Something ate half of my cucumber starts. I even have them covered with hardware cloth. 🙄
I think I'm going to not cover any of my veggies this year. I'm growing every thing on trellises so hopefully that will help with the squash bug & cucumber beetles. I have too much growing to...
I have this on the border of my garden & driveway. I think it's so pretty & it chokes out all the weeds. It creeps a lot but if it goes too far we just drive over it or step on it & it's gone. It's some type of sedum.
My EWO... I planted them a couple years ago & thought they all died...
I had NO idea they made stainless steel hoses! I use the shrinky dink ones because it hurts my back to roll them up, but they only last a few years. I may have to get a ss one next time.
The pollen is so bad here, I walked outside yesterday to collect eggs & started choking, my throat felt like it was closing up. It was super windy yesterday, better today so not as bad.
I went to get some flowers to fill in for the bolted spinach & they gave me a couple jalapenos for free...
I air fried them like chips last time & they were great!
Haha, at least it was an easy fix!
Iris & Spiderwart blooming.
Girls made quick work of spreading the chips.
I got a good 1/3 of the garden cardboarded & mulched. I didn't have enough cardboard to do the lower part. That's more work than I've done in the last 2 years (cuz of my back surgeries). Felt good to move. I may regret it tmrw tho. :lau
Butterfly weed looks like it's going to burst...
My first ever harvest of radishes. I'm not a fan really, but DH likes them. I found a hornworm on them. Is that normal?
My spinach has bolted. That's so sad.
Same. It did nothing here for the weeds.
Creeping Charlie is my nemesis. It just shows up everywhere.
Who knew!? That's probably why I don't have it here, we have so many deer.
Starting to sprinkle out, looks like I'll be dodging rain all day if I do any garden work.
You'll love it, no chemicals! Just remember you don't have to completely torch it, just hit it with the heat & it will die off in a couple days. It's worked wonders on the crabgrass that grows in our gravel driveway.
My DH burns all the weeds too. Apparently you don't have to torch them till they no longer exist, you just have to burn them a little & it destroys the cell structure of the plant & then that kills it along with the roots.
Got the dahlias in the ground & gave the rest away on FB. Along with...
