    Male or female

Yes, I have 3 others that are definite females. Guess it's time to rehome them

    Male or female

Pretty sure these both are male but wanted to double check. Two 2 week old salmon faverolles.

    New chick brooder

I probably got it from you. It's been so long that I can't remember where I read it but I'm pretty it was that article

    New chick brooder

Had my daughter hold the door to show how it opens 😂

    New chick brooder

The door does go down though. I figured it will be easier for me than having to hold it up while filling the food and water.

    New chick brooder

This is our first time using this one. I will probably just make an opening on the side. Something big enough for the chicks to fit through but small enough that the hens can't fit. That way if they're getting picked on they can run to safety. The door is for me to access the food, water, and...

    No. Do not send money.

    New chick brooder

Yes, we've always had them with the big ones, but we usually get 6 chicks, not 20 (21, actually. Just realized they snuck an extra one in) so we needed to make a bigger one. Integration always goes smooth. Never had a hen hurt a chick or try to.

    Just got new babies!!!

Once I saw the salmon faverolles and EEs I knew it was over😂😂

    New chick brooder

My hens are usually pretty great with chicks. If the weather is warm enough, I'm able to start letting them out around 3weeks old. The bigger girls usually just give a warning peck here and there but I've never had serious issues.

    New chick brooder

Got some chicks and we're brooding them with the bigger girls. They're in the covered part of the run and out of wind and rain. Ran around like crazy for a while when I put them in 😂 it's only hardware cloth halfway up the side since they're on a secure run but I may go ahead and put it all the...

    Just got new babies!!!

We didn't get any chicks last year because, let's face it, sometimes you gotta let the bigger girls start to die off before adding more 😂. Well, we unfortunately lost a few from age mixed with our horrible west Texas heat last summer. Tractor supply got some new babies in today, and I couldn't...

    um, egglaying at 13 weeks?

It's called a fart egg. Usually it's just some egg white. No yolk. I've gotten a few.

    I did it again

I've been debating doing one. Technically, boxers have mastiff in them so if one parent was boxer and one mastiff then I see why the mastiff is showing so much but then she's "Technically" full boxer, right 😂😂

    I did it again

Well, vet is now thinking she's mixed with mastiff. I've decided to do weekly pictures. Here she is at 12 weeks.

    I did it again

I have no idea! I knew right away she was younger than 4 months just by looking at her!

    I did it again

I posted on here last year about rescuing a little male boxer that was dying in the breeders backyard. I thankfully got her to release him to me and $1500 and a complete prolapse later, he's alive. Since that surgery he hadn't had any more issues (until recently, a yeast infection on his face)...

    They arent ok

Forgot to mention that. I do have a kiddie pool ou there also that I add blocks of ice to. The garage does have an overhead light but do I just shut it off at night? Should I go from the overhead to a lamp so it gradually gets darker?

    They arent ok

Ok, so I posted a couple weeks ago asking for help because we have been super hot and my girls look like they're struggling. I provide cold water, deep shade, fans, frozen water bottles, and frozen treats daily. I also have been wetting the ground. Most said they'll be ok, the panting is ok...
