@biophiliac haha thanks! And yeah I live in WA and all but Walmart had no more than one type of fencing, and all told me the suppliers were struggling to keep up. And as soon as this whole pandemic broke out I start getting emails from all my regular hatcheries saying they'd be extremely booked...

Pretty sure I haven't posted on here in a while but I moved to Texas successfully and have been building a new loft/aviary out of scrap wood for the birds! Just needs some reinforcement, a door, and wire! Unfortunately the panic buying of Chickens from Corona has led to all the stores being sold...

Welp :/ I had my last day at work today before our move and the stress is piling on! We have so much stuff to transport in a 4 day roadtrip!!! Also Soup & Wallace's Child remains alive @ ~16 days now! born on March 17. But I'm still a bit confused cause baby has been putting on plenty on size...

Alrighty guys so baby spent an hr whither me yesterday evening as I warmed him up before bed since he was distinctly below body temp and then hastled Soup too at least stand over him before I turned out the lights out. Luckily he did fine last night, and his crop is definitely full, although I...

They also have already swapped to seed feeding, at exactly one week? I left my homers to their own devices so I don't know standard milk to seed swap time but swapping to seed only 7 days into a 30 day nest seems kinda fast, or am I just over cautious??

Anyone know when parents stop brooding the babies :/ Wallace & Soup haven't been sitting on the baby once since I got home at 4 this afternoon, it's now eight. Right now the heat is on at 70 but it'll drop to 60-62 whithin hrs of turning off said heatand the baby only just started getting pin...

Their fat remaining child opened its eyes today! The runt I was gonna have them brood died yesterday evening, I suspect it's digestive track wasn't working like it was supposed too :/ it was taking in food but not growing or defecating. Luckily it appears this baby has been the fighter of the...

Although I've noticed unlike the baby I hatched and started myself, this chick has yet to produce solid poop :/ just liquids it's around 12 hrs at least and the last baby pooped minutes post its first meal. Maybe cause it's been taking in proper crop milk so it uses it a up to grow? Don't know...

Wondering if maybe I can assign them nightshift with the runt and then do day feedings myself so I don't stress as much, I know they'll take the baby but it just loses the food competition due to their own chick now 3xs it's size. Luckily it got enough of a kick start from them that it'll...

Suspected this may happen but the remaining chicke who's a full day older hit it's growth spurt and out competed the 2nd remaining chick and Soup and Wallace chose to obviously feed the larger baby. So now I'm hand feeding the younger and then we're in the midst of moving so now cages needed to...

We lost one baby sometime this morning but Idk why, they were brooding it and it's crop was full, I suspect maybe they unintentionally stepped on it? I checked them at 11 pm last night and everyone was good, I got S&W whith their 2 still fine and heathy so thats good enough for me after their...

3 babies! W&S finally figured out parenting and hatched 2 chicks! Unfortunately Cannoli and Crumpet did not quite comprehend their own chick and abandoned it to die. Luckily I came home just in time to save it, and swapped it out whith W&S 2 day old glutton to convince them to feed it, and let...

@biophiliac yes, all my adult birds are great travelers and get regular vet checks in a fabric shaded carrier whith safety harnesses, I figure I'll start introducing the babies (if I get any) w/ a parent to comfort them and use food motivation if they're already on solids. And maybe put the...

Had to refloor the room the pigeons were in so they got moved to our dog room were our cat also frequents, kinda assumed the cages being carried through the house to a totally different room might throw them off enough to dump their eggs(especially cause Cannoli is nesting on the cloth cage...

Welp I'm moving to Texas in a month, just went out of town for a week to find both my pairs sitting on fertile eggs again😱 I think if the babies hatch it'll be about 19 days before our 3 day roadtrip to the new house. If so what's the likely hood I'll have to feed them myself those 3 days? Or...

I personally still love the German beauty, Short face Budapest, Figurita, and Capuchine! Wish their had been some Swift's and Damascene at the show(unless I just missed those pix). A breeder in my town has a hundred + swifts and they're gorgeous! And dewlaps, idk why, but I love the look of...
