Amazing how fast they grow, huh? The new one that hatched yesterday is half the size (or more!) of the ones that hatched a week ago!

    The Quack Shack

Just had a random 'abandoned' egg hatch. Got home from the feed store and was greeted by a wet fuzzy still partially in his shell. Took some eggs that had been kinda sat then ignored and put them in the incubator. This is going to be a very staggered hatch.

Perhaps and operation to straighten his foot? Or amputation combined with a prosthetic? Neither would be cheap though...

Believe me, by the end of my indoor hatching season (which is in about 3 weeks!) I want nothing to do with all these birds in the trailer! :lau I've also got 13 month-old silkie mix chicks that I haven't sold yet, plus about 20 other chicks (Chantecler, Brahma, and OEGB) that I picked up from a...

Had five more babies hatch yesterday. Running out of places to put them all, lol! Right now I have a total of 14, three of which are Muscovy (eggs got mixed up in the nest boxes) and one that I purchased last week (a chocolate magpie!). Also have about 2 dozen more eggs in the incubators, all...

Sounds like someone did some cross-breeding sometime in the past. I took the biggest yellow and the smallest gray to hopefully increase my chances at a pair. I have to admit, having them following me around was the sweetest thing ever!!!

Because they are Pilgrim geese, the goslings (and adults!) are different colours. So yes, they are a pair. Colt is the lighter coloured one and he'll be white as an adult, and Winney is the darker one and will be grayish when she matures. Here's a pic from Wikipedia:

I know this isn't the Goose thread, but had to share these pics of Colt and Winney on their first walkaround outside with me!

I used the genetics calculator online to figure out possibilities. I'd link it but my internet is down and I'm on my phone.
  17. Canadian Wind

    The Quack Shack

Seems like its the general name for them...
  18. Canadian Wind

    The Quack Shack

That was my experience with KC. Even raised from hatching, they were skittish and wild.
