What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

Sorry it didn't work, but grateful you passed along the info. I don't know if my low guilt threshold might have put me up to "trying" but now I can just "pass" on the experience thanks to yours. :)

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

Sorry, I mis-explained I put it into a bucket as I find it, then go dump the contents from time to time... Usually once a week when it isn't hot (smell factor calculation ;) ) I LOVE that table, may need to frame it to hang on the chicken coop to explain to nosey-vistors who need a "reason"...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

I don't know if it is because the dog loves my spouse TOO MUCH and me just a little, and the hens are 'mine' or it really is objectively true.... but I find the dog poop is stinky and gross... where my hens can do no wrong, even poo... (yeah, parents do have favorites ;) ) I think you would...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

Duck poop and turkey poop and hen too ;) The only poop I could do without is my 130lb dog... Wish I could teach her to use a toilet. All my other poopers I follow around scooping it up and happily putting it into my "next year" garden beds. (I rotate)

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

They sometimes put a more expensive product on the shelf with the label of a lower priced item and somehow make it YOUR fault you didn't check the 12 digit number that is too small for human eyes to read. It feels very dishonest and rude to be scolded for trusting they did their job and not...

Wow! Awesome post! I've read through it, but I will be re-reading it with a pencil and pad of paper later. 🤠

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

That's ok... You are trying to improve... Use the "expert" as a tutor, watch what they do differently to what you tried.

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

It is ideal, except some municipalities won't allow those kinds of fences. (The aren't pretty for people driving by) They are also expensive... On the funny side... I have seen them installed backwards (recall they are super expensive) I laughed once the person who paid for it was out of...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

Here there is a consumer protection act that if you find an error you get the item for FREE (up to a value of $10) if the item costs more than $10 then you get a $10 discount on the item. $10 off the correct price, of course. And YES, not only do I have to be patient until the "untrained"...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

OMG I laughed! I can't stop laughing.... Yea, she would be an awesome pot-scrubber! She already does a pre-wash on anything my spouse uses to cook (she washes the pans when he cooks, there is ALWAYS something cheesy/creamy/saucy stuck to the bottom of the pans when he cooks. ) I think I will...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

I had an old fridge in the basement (came with the house) I only had a little fridge so one winter I thought I would save the hassle of frequent grocery runs by using the big fridge... it was plugged in for One winter, less than 6 months... That fridge cost me $400 of electricity. I never...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

The dishwasher does use less water than 'some' people's way of washing dishes, but it uses electricity. If water consumption is not an issue, I wouldn't change the kitchen for an appliance. For your washer/dryer you can see how much they consume by checking out the speed your electrical meter...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

I hang things to dry in the bathroom, it is the room I which I put the budgie in winter (small, well insulated room) so I keep it stable warm, the rest of the house is old and drafty so it is only basic heating. I don't have a dryer, I wash all the comforters and blankets in the fall, and they...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

I was day dreaming something like this for next year. In my version I want to buy those super cheap leaky garden hoses they sell at the dollar+ store and using it in garden containers I have lined w plastic run a loop on the bottom of the container. I don't know how much water you need to keep...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

HMmm, good suggestion, I had not heard of that, I'll see if I have any. I tend to wear out clothes on yardwork to the point strangers tell me it is time to put them out of their misery. So they are no use to thrift stores. Then I make them into rags, be amazing if they had another stop after that!

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

I am constantly teasing my spouse (the dog came into the house as his from a prior relationship) that I could make a new dog for how much she sheds! The woman he was living with made him take the dog when he left due to her shedding, even though the dog was her adoption when they were together...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

Pallets are not made for contact w food, so they will use anything available, they may not have applied anything during the manufacturing of the pallet, but that doesn't mean they started with clean wood. Your choice to trust but I work in supply chain management and I trust people to cut costs...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

Often those cravings (for me) is my brain trying to change the subject from a thought that is spiraling out of control. (Like being self-critical, worrying to the point of catastrophe scenarios) I moved to the country and junk is too far to get, so it became easier to identify as the cause of...
