Today we helped a friend clean out/rearrange his pole barn. I'd guess it's 30x40...? He has a '57 Chevy that was parked against the back wall, blocked in by stuff/junk/things he can't or won't get rid of.
When we left, the Chevy was parked facing the door, and some of the stuff was gone.
We...
A few cool days, and then we get back to heat.
Tomorrow we're going to help a friend (start to) clear out his pole barn. We will be coming home with some of the stuff. For sure, two transfer cases for the Falcon plow we bought from him. We'll see what else he can palm off on us.
Aw darn. I'm O positive. I once had a false positive hep B test, and the donation place told me (nicely) not to come back. This was in my 30s. A friend who made some money on the side selling plasma told me I wouldn't be able to do that either.
I talked to my doctor, he said if I test negative...
The closest hospital to us, in Greenville, is part of some corporation now. That's where my neighbor went when she had a heart attack.
Where, when she presented with nausea, shortness of breath, and chest pain, the person put a wrist band on her arm and said, "Go sit over there."
Yeah, I'm...
Hubby and I like our doctor. We're both healthy, which makes the relationship pretty easy.
After what happened with my neighbor (the heart attack fiasco), I am taking blood test results and anything my doc says as a "jumping off place."
No, I'm not a medical professional. Nor do I play one on...
Here's more coffee. I really need it today. Hubby is working, and I have lots I want to get done here. But I sure would like to go back to bed for another hour. Or two.
Speaking of broodies... Widget was broody several weeks ago, and got put in broody jail for a couple days. Snapped out of it...
I've been using it a lot more in the past few months. My legs and arms are in the best shape ever in my life.
I would never have guessed that my legs would be in better shape at 62 than at 22.
Same here. The first few times I was sure I'd be sore the next day. Nope. But the next day...
30 years ago, the time lapse was more like 36 hours. Even my pain is slower now than it used to be. :gig
I picked some rhubarb today, and have it prepping in the fridge. There was a few stalks left over, so I made rhubarb custard. It's tasty, but the custard is a mess, broken and watery. I'll try making it again and use cornstarch to thicken it next time. It might still be a mess; it's tasty enough...
It's chilly enough this morning that I built a fire in the wood stove. We'll probably open the window/door to cool the house off later. :lau
Today I really need to pick the rhubarb and maybe make something with it. The plant that is a split off a neighbor's is looking fantastic! The two that...
Another turtle visited us too. This time, NOT a snapper. I think she made a nest in the driveway, right in a tire lane. Not a good place. It has been driven over several times already. :(
We dug some fiddlehead ferns out of our woods. They spread and filled in the area where we planted them. They look lovely. They come up about the time the daffodils are done.
I keep thinking I want one. I'd love to hear what you think of yours.
Here are my concerns:
How loud are they?
What temp (min/max) can the ambient temp in the room be?
Do they need a 220 line?
I don't. I know myself well enough that I'd always wonder... did that thing close/open? My neighbor...
