ADVICE please!
We are first time EMU incubators. Today marks day 27 for our egg…humidity has been at 35% and temp set at 97.5. Tonight we noticed this so we took it out to inspect better. I’m afraid our egg is a bad one but would really like advice of others that has seen this before.
*for now it has been placed back into the incubator 🤞🏻

I don’t know about emu’s but when parakeet eggs have a chip like that they are beginning to hatch. Could that be what the white spot is? Have you been weighing the egg daily to see if there has been weight gain. That’s one way to see if it is viable. Best of luck. Only one egg?

27 days is far to early for emus to hatch. I would say the egg is bad and starting to rot inside, hence the foamy goop coming out of the crack. Give it a sniff, if it's nasty smelling then you'll know it is a bad egg.

If there are no other eggs incubating with this one and it doesn't smell then you can keep trying to incubate but if you have other eggs then I would remove to prevent the spread of bacteria.
