At about what can you tell if your chick is a roo or hen? I have two White Rock chicks about 3 weeks or so old and I think one is the roo. I really hope not though. The comb and wattle are easier to see than on the other one.

It usually depends on the breed, but in most chickens it is around 6-8 weeks. That is when the little roos first start to crow. Now that is a funny sound ! If you have roos, you will also start to notice the comb getting redder and bigger and wattles starting to appear. They will also start to take on more assertive behavior and be larger than the others. If you don't have any roos, the next sign is an egg around 20+ weeks.

Again, it depends on the breed.

thanks hotwings

Although that is not what I wanted to hear. That is the only chick that will come to me or take food from my hand. Although he is very very nosy.

Well I got my answer he is truly a HE. He is also still one on the nices I have. I just hope he stays that way.
