Thank you ♥️ I know because of their age it would probably be harder for them to recover but I didn’t want to give up on them. I was wondering the same if it might possibly been organ failure, with crop issues there’s so many things that could cause it it’s a big guessing game sadly..
Thank you for trying to help her. I never realized how much I’d love having chickens, they’ve got some fun personalities. I’m going to miss hearing her yelling at me for treats as soon as I’d get home from work lol ♥️
Thank you for trying to help her recover. It’s very defeating..
I lost my other chicken today to something that was causing her crop issues, they’re both together now ♥️
My sweet girl passed away this morning. I went to check on her before work and found her in the coop… utterly heartbroken. She didn’t seem too unwell yesterday, we were walking around the backyard.. she was really hiding it I suppose..
She was my last chicken, I lost my other girl last Monday...
Hey guys so I did start her on the Acidified Copper Sulfate again, today was day two. She still has watery poop, I’ve been trying to give her some probiotics from a capsule mixed with coconut oil and syringe it along her beak. Not sure how much she’s getting because she fights me. Her crop is...
OK, I made sure yesterday that her water in the chicken run and coop has the Hydro Hen in it. I let her outside only to scratch in the dirt, not eat any grass. She ate a bunch of insects and worms and I had to put her back in the run because she bent over and semi brown liquid came out of her...
Thank you for linking these articles! Tomorrow will be her last day of the Safeguard, would it be okay to start the ACS again the day after? Her breath still smells and her crop is not completely empty in the morning. I also have some Dulcolax like the article suggests that I could give her...
Hi all I have a 11 year old Buckeye chicken that seems to have sour crop. A couple weeks ago I noticed she seemed a little off and happened to feel her crop in the morning and it was like a water balloon. Her breath smelled and I couldn’t feel anything in her crop except liquid. I gave her some...
We put her to rest yesterday evening. She was declining, she couldn’t get much food in her anymore.
Fortunately yesterday was really good weather, so when I got home from work I took her outside until sunset so she could scratch around for worms with my second chicken and dust bathe in the sun...
Hi all here’s an update:
Her condition is about the same, still drinking and eating a little chopped veggies and fruit. I’ve been syringe feeding her some liquid crumbles with some unsweetened applesauce and probiotics when I get home from work. Today I had her in my lap and was giving her some...
No worries, seriously I appreciate all of the help you’ve been with trying to help my chickie girl get better. It’s a very lonely and overwhelming feeling trying to treat a chicken that’s unwell because there are so many different things it could be, everyone’s input here has been very helpful...
So I got a look in her mouth just a bit ago, the yellow plaque is still there. Looked a little discolored in a couple small spots, but seems still pretty much the same size. Could not see very well if there were any noticeable scabs from the blood so I don’t really know where the bleeding wound...
