Is it normal for one or 2 eggs to hatch and then radio silence from other eggs in the incubator? The other eggs *should* be good, but this is my first time incubating goose eggs. The first 2 hatched on day 29/30 and now we are on day 34...
Anyone looking for a roo or 2? I have a lavender orpington and a Buff Orpington that would love a flock of hens for themselves! they're sweet boys, about 5 months old.
more than one what? house? yes. i do have more chicks in a different type of bin.. same age. I was thinking if this worked out then I would move the other chicks in with them.
Hey - so We have lots of chicks... and are kind of out of brooder space- but I do have these Tortoise houses, and one is empty. its 2x3ft and has a top (important when you have cats and curious dogs).. but my concern if the wood was ok. I don't know what kind besides "fir wood" anyone else use them?
the week of July 4th I ordered 2 dozen Blue laced reds wyandotte eggs from someone selling them on this forum. the eggs shipped the following week and of the 24 I ordered, 23 came in intact, one was broken. (no extra eggs were included) of those, at day 10 12 were found not viable/fertile, and...

I don't know if I should give these guys another couple of days.. one did pip, but hasn't made much progress since. I do need to put in 3 more guinea eggs into lock down tonight.
well looks like my results arent awesome, of the 24 eggs, 12 were viable, 4 hatched, but 2 died.... and its day 25 for the rest of the eggs. kinda bummed, but i know that this was a possibility. lesson learned. At least the eggs i got from a more local farmer (more of a mix) are mostly viable...
