    Broody button quail and chicks

    My button quail hen has raised two batches of button chicks. When she went broody a third time I decided to experiment by putting coturnix eggs under the button quail. Hatch day was yesterday. Three of the five eggs hatched.

    Is it too late to hatch more duck eggs ? Zone 5 in Newfoundland Canada.

    If you have a lot of room with not too many ducks that I would think that you could put the ducklings with you older ones. However if you have many ducks and not a lot of room I would not try this.

    S i l k i e d is a recessive trait. In order for a ch i c k to have this trait it has to get the jeans from both parents. Two of your birds have the silkied gene. This has been dictated on my cell phone pardon love mystics instrument usage. Maybe good for a laugh!

    How old is the white? If she is the same age as the others in the picture then I would say it is a pulley. Also if she willingly let's a rooster mount her then for sure she is a pullet.
