I just feed my entire flock layer feed from a local feed store...I guess they mill it themselves and it's just in a white bag. As long as the nutritional info is what your birds need then you should be good to go.
I feed my roosters layer feed along with the hens, and they are healthy and fertile and have exhibited no problems for the 4 years I've had them. I also provide additional supplemental oyster shell which the hens eat. What I've gleaned from the info online is that an all flock feed is great if...
Thank you! I'm collecting the new eggs now, is it safe to let her sit on the old ones for the next few days while I collect? The eggs in her nest don't currently smell.
Thank you for this suggestion, as it gives me something concrete to do while I collect more information. I also didn't know broody hens might lay just a few more eggs! Thanks for your replies

I haven't, and I have my first broody hen and am worried that she isn't getting off the nest to eat/poo. Is a broody poop easy to distinguish from a regular one? I have 1 roo and 3 total hens. Sorry for the gross question but just want to keep an eye on my hen.
Oops! I've definitely been doing that... but the questions are the same topic as the thread. Is it preferred to start an entirely new thread even if the topic is the same? Or how do you know when you're supposed to?
