I encourage dandelions... they feed the bees early spring and give them enough food to establish good brood :)

Does anyone know what these are? I took this photo yesterday at a park garden, and there were lots of honey bees on it. Since there are not many plants at this time of the year for the bees, I would like to plant some.

I've missed a bunch of posts but saw this one. I have some zuchinnis that look just like your mutant. Bought started zucchinis. They all started out looking like zucchinis, but a couple of them ended up growing these. They still taste like zucchini, but the shape of a spaghetti squash. The...

One caution on the straw bales. If they came from a crop that was sprayed with an herbicide, they will kill your garden plants. You have to be sure they are from crops that aren't sprayed. Some folks have not been able to plant under where they used straw for a couple years before it cleared out.

Who here knows about comfrey? I'm more of an "organic/better than organic" type gardener. I have been reading conflicting information on comfrey. Some say it's the greatest thing in the world, high protein, feed to your chickens and livestock. Others say it's poison - don't feed - can cause...

Anyone have any experience with something eating the rose leaves and the cherry bush leaves? I don't see any bugs or eggs. The leaves just look like they're being shredded and eaten.
