The historical cemetery a few blocks from me has a grave with remains relocated from Tule Lake. It is so sad how many of them were just Baby Lastname.

    ⭐ Kiki's Year Long 🌶️

I made reservations for a tour of the Tule Lake Segregation Center for next Friday. It's one of those places that I've been wanting to visit for a while. Close to 30K Japanese Americans were interred there. There's not a lot of it left, but I still want to visit. I doubt it will be as moving...

I knew I'd been putting in a fair amount of work this spring, but I didn't realize quite how much until I compared my winter video of the MerriQuail greenhouse with today's video!

I took the eggs in with me. The only reason it had access was because I had just collected them and was finishing the last of my chores before taking them in.

I only leave the door open when I am inside working. Leaving the door open if I'm not physically present is too dangerous with the number of loose dogs in my area.

I had a super cheeky blue jay this morning. I was taking care of the birds and garden this morning when this jay flew into the greenhouse through the door. I went to chase it out because I didn't want it trapped inside, but instead of flying out, it flew straight to the basket of eggs that I'd...

I don't want to use poison in case something eats them. The traps work.

I had one of those for rats back at my old place for use indoors. They're really expensive if you have an infestation like I have in the greenhouse. If you only need one, they're expensive but doable. I bought 10 traps for about $8.

I don't know where I mentioned the mouse issue I was having and I bought these covered traps. They worked well for a month or two, then got so loose that they'd snap as soon as I walked away from them or so tight that a mouse could tap dance on them and not set them off. Now it's spring, my...

I also don't trust my aim. I've never fired a gun or rifle, so I would need enough practice to be confident that I won't miss.

You're not the first to suggest catapult, oddly enough. Guillotine for swift dispatch has also been suggested. 🤣

Pretty much. It also sounds like because the burrows are on either side of the railroad tracks I'm not likely to get any response from the railroad company that owns the tracks. To keep completely legal, I need to trap them on my own land and dispatch them here. Firing a gun inside city...

I'm calling animal control to see what they say. I'll make sure to mention that their burrow is under the tracks.
