Bawhahahaha!!!! Went outside and there is a big ol mean coon in the trap. I'm sure I shouldn't be so excited, seeing as I took an oath to protect animals, but the coon is going to die. I am protecting my flock. Yup, that's it!

I swear to all things holy.... A coon is going to die tonight. Ballsy coon stole a hen last night some time between 8&9, when I go out to close doors. Stole her right off her egg pile!!!!!!!! Left feathers every where. Blood trail up two trees. She was my favorite broody :( I hunted for him...

Welcome!! I'm in New Braunfels, and am a fellow hound girl :) As far as the chicks, they needs warmth till about 4-5 weeks. However, with Texas heat, you can keep them outside with a lamp only at night. Needs to stay around 95 constant. Which is our day time temps lol. If you want chicks...

Most of mine are black. I get blues and whites. I sell them sexed, but I can't make guarantees vecause I'm just learning to sex. I sell on light chicks for $3, $5 for 5 week olds, and add a $1 for each week after. (Although I usually end up selling them all for $3 because I get tired of them lol)

I'm located in New Braunfels. Asking $10 for the 10 week olds, and $5 for the 5 week olds. I've got both smooth and frizzled roosters and pullets. I have blacks, blues, and the brown mottled. I just hatched a single white one. But I just got it out of the incubator, so I don't know if it is a...

I'm fairly cheap, considering. I just do it for hatching. Unless I've bought eggs, they are $3 for chicks under heat , and $5 for chicks off heat. If it's close to point of lay they are $10.

I begged husband for an incubator. Just had to have one I said. I'm going to breed chicks I said. I forgot how much I really hate chicks in the house, but I realllyyyyy love hatching lol. I am sure I would have better luck selling more if it wasn't such a specialized breeding.

I have them sexed by a breeder friend of mine. He's 90% right most of the time. Some of them I'm not sure on, but have them marked as Roos. A nicer surprise lol. I only have two coops, so not a ton of space. I'm going to be building a new hoop coop that I'm going to divide into two pens for...

Just north of you, new Braunfels. I have a few that are 6 weeks, and a few that are 3 weeks. So you wouldn't have to feed them but for another 2 months or so? I don't even know the right age for processing? Now, rabbits and cattle, different story.
