What did you do in the garden today?

Ahh, the sun filled days of summer. Gardeners get so focused on their chores, they often get sun burnt. Eyes & hair can get fried by the sun, too. Remember to wear your sun protection y'all. ❤️

What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning & happy Sunday gardeners! We seem to be going through a dry spell here, so watering (& weeding of course) & cutting grass later, are on the agenda (raise the blade to 3 inches since my nutsedge & Bermuda grass lawn is brown already...well, the white clover & the minimal grass parts...

What did you do in the garden today?

It sure does! This morning my eyelids were sealed shut. Cleaning my eyes, I had literally "gunk strings" & I promptly got grossed out. That's actually funny...the gal that can clean a bird's bum of mites (I became an interesting topic at a friend's picnic, as I tended to their turkey), always...

What did you do in the garden today?

Ditto that! Healthiest plants are in the compost area! 😆 I had a similar looking squash appearance leafy thing growing...I let it grow, but it turned out to be a weed. No squash, but it did produce a white flower that closed up at dusk. Not saying yours is a weed...I think we've all had veggie...

What did you do in the garden today?

Yeah I am wondering...I've reacted badly to the poison they sprayed days ago...well maybe my tomatoes are reacting to the same crap. 😠 Ok...spraying toxic crap affecting me is bad enough, But Lord help anyone messing with flock & garden. 😆 Yeah, I'm just joking here right now, but really, it...

What did you do in the garden today?

My pullets are jumping up on top of their gazebo & destroying the darn gazebo cover. Hey, you dingbats...that's what provides shade & rain cover. Darn kids! 🙄 Look at the expression..."Huh? Don't know what you're talkin bout mom." Oh, that??? It wasn't me!

What did you do in the garden today?

DH has swollen eyes & has been sneezy. I've got sore throat, mucus, swollen eyes, flushed face & neck, hives that come & go (some came back), wheezing asthma & overall puffy, itchy, swollen body. It's bad this morning! We've gotten No rain to wash the air. The truck is coated in yellow pollen...

What did you do in the garden today?

Molar itch, a new one for me, too. 😆 But I've had roots of my hair on my scalp ache, sinus pain so bad ya can't even wear glasses, itchy tongue & very swollen lacrimal caruncles on bad allergy days. I'll trade ya itchy molars for swollen caruncles 😂

What did you do in the garden today?

All the severe storms forecasted to roll through and we didn't get a drop of rain here yesterday! 6am I watered the garden & gave my flock all fresh waters for the day. Why is it So bloody hot & humid? We went from Temps in the 40s in May & needing to wear layers, to sweating, drenched &...

What did you do in the garden today?

Yes, love pickles, I'm known to drink some pickling juice right from the jar at times. DH had the funniest expression on his face when he rounded the corner to see me chugging down salty, dill, with some garlic pickle juice, olive or sauerkraut juice the 1st few times he caught me. 🤣 Most...

What did you do in the garden today?

I hear ya about allergies. Holy crap I am having the worst time of it, plus 3 days ago inhaled that darn crap they sprayed. DH has wanted to take me to the hospital past 2 days. Hives, wheezing, asthma, red swollen skin, what a PITA! Well, the hives have finally settled down, now just red...

What did you do in the garden today?

Ok, so I get why weeds tick us all off...but now a light bulb went off...weeds actually serve a greater purpose & can help us. Guess I'm gonna have to educate myself & reevaluate my opinion of nutsedge 😆 Seriously though...I'm going to see what else this guy says. Kinda interesting.

What did you do in the garden today?

I don't have experience with ducks, but when a baby pigeon or chicken was lame we gave vitamin B & Selenium, which often helped. If an adult female went lame we gave it calcium in drinking water with own food set up in a separate calm cage. Most times that helped within 1to 3 days. When it did...

What did you do in the garden today?

What's funny...yesterday, I had a bag of chips in our snack bag on the job (for DH) & I rarely go for chips but I suddenly had the urge to scarf some down...ate half the bag like a glutton! 😆 What is it...the salt? It feels good on the throat & does somehow affect the windpipe, like scratching...

Not sure what's up with weather but it is looking quite gloomy here in Delaware. I got a severe weather alert on the phone. 1st things I think of...flock & garden!
