Good day to you and all. Raining here again; a soft rain so far-hope it keeps up that way. All the bathtub ducklings are now outside. A good thing as I need the tub for some ill hens; eye infections. This winter it has been one thing right after another without pause. I sure will be glad when...

Can I ask the name of the video; I'd like to watch it. I'll try to find it.

I haven't measured in a long time, but I'm sure mine are a meter long at best. This suits me as the longer tails are harder to care for. I do watch and hope for longer tails and each year they are a bit longer and thicker. My youngsters won't have as nice a tail as they should; this winter has...

A beauty. In my opinion, cockatiels are the best all-around-pet bird. Years ago Kimmi and I used to raise them and hand feed the chicks. Is he a hand fed tiel?

From what I've read it isn't uncommon, but I'd never heard of it before. The readings say to euthanize as there is no cure. My wife is against it as the hen does not seem to be in any pain. Of course, she is being kept isolated from other birds and if she does go broody I may as well let her...

Good Morning Everyone. Last month I had a serama hen hatch two chicks. I always bring them into the house in order to give them a good start. When the chicks were about a week old the hen, overnight, became unbalanced and wobbly when she walked. Her vertical tail was/is carried down. A few days...

One of my phoenix hens that went through treatment started to lay again today. I saw her way up in the rafters in an old pigeon nest; her first for this clutch. I rather think I'll hold off for a while before I let any of the birds go broody. The weather predicts a slight warming trend for us...

Me too. When we lived in WI there were three Amish stores in driving distance. None here that we could find. It is something my wife really misses.

Good Cold Morning Everyone. In looking over the flock I've come to the conclusion that phoenix are not cold hardy. My other breeds look great, but the phoenix... I brought one white roo in to spend the cold days inside. Anyone else have a rooster in their living room? Glad the wife isn't home...

Many domestic pigeon are not fast flying and don't stand a chance with hawks. I was going to replace the pigeons I have with fantails, but because I enjoy watching them fly, decided to keep the birds I have. In a year the hawks have only caught two pigeons from my flock. Since pigeons nest year...

There's enough others in the turkey shed. The pigeon had not been out of the nest long; the pigeons I have are very good at escaping the hawks-very fast fliers that once in the air only a falcon would be able to catch.

Likely at your post office. You'll probably get the package today. Lost one of my white pigeons last night/early morning; most likely a hawk this morning. The wife tells me it's to get up to 50F today-The sun is shining bright. Anyone out there have experience with pregnant mini goats? This...

What a nice built runner. Can't comment on the color, but I'm sure he's a beauty. Wish he were mine! My two girls are a blue bibbed and a blue pied (not up on the names of duck colors yet). They're just beginning to feather out nice and living in the bathtub until there's a warm spell.

Lucky you. I've been trying to find a drake or hatching eggs, for my two runner girls.
