Thanks, very helpful article. I was wondering how to introduce a new chick to my flock should I wish to expand. I just gave away 4 roosters and I fell kind of sad. I might add some hens of the same age as my flock.

Most of my past flocks have been made up misfit or rescue hens, and some of the trial and error phase of flock integration got pretty messy and was quite stressful to both the chickens and me. It took me a long time to learn that sometimes the slow way is the fastest way.
