Do you know what caused the death of the other 2? I only ask b/c you wouldn't want to bring in a new duck if there's a chance of illness that caused the loss of the other 2. Do you have other ducks (or chickens or "other" bird) that he could hang with until you raise new ones?

It's funny, I have 1 who hides and buries hers all the time and the other 1 will just kinda "drop" hers where ever she happens to be standing at the time!
Does anyone on here have them? I really want to get some of these little guys. I think they're absolutely gorgeous! Where did you get yours and are they as difficult to hatch out as call ducks? I'd also love to see pics if anyone has any! Thx
I had gotten mine in mid-june and they were laying by early December. I remember one of them actually hid and tried sitting a next late Dec/early Jan, right in the middle of our first snowstorm that year. Took hours to find her all covered in a 1/2 inch of snow and shivering!
Kate - I've never seen lavendar/lilac calls before. Actually, the only lavender/lilac bird I've seen is holderreads american lavender geese - in pics only! Do you have any other pics of your lavender ducks, maybe in some natural light? I'm guessing pics don't do these birds justice - it seems...
When my rouen was injured she let me pick her up and hold her and take care of her injuries. Once she started to heal she let me know that she was all set with the holding and touching portion of the program! She was quick to let me know she wanted to be back outside too - she would waddle over...
