Years ago I had 2 Golden Laced Wyandotte hens. They were beautiful but they were my least favorite in my flock. They were mean! I must be a glutton for punishment bc I picked up 2 blue Wyandotte pullets! We shall see how it goes. Haha.
Starting from top pic, left to right I would say New Hampshire Red or Production Red for the first. The chick on right I would say is the Golden Sexlink.
Pic #2 is a Golden Laced Wyandotte.
Pic #3 doesn’t appear to be any of the above mentioned breeds. Maybe a Plymouth White or White Leghorn...
Hi All! I recently brought home this ADORABLE silkie chick from TSC 4 days ago. I’m completely in love with its colors. I’m not new to raising chickens, however somewhat novice with Silkies. Only had a couple throughout the years. I was hoping my fellow Silkie Lover Community could shed some...
My first F3 Olive egger
This little one is a Turken Naked Neck that was bred to my F2 Olive Egger Roo. Hence, the muffs. Some have feathered feet too with beards and muffs but with naked necks. I also had turkens crossed with my Marans. Turned out with blue, black, feathered necks and feet with...
I’m in the same boat as you! Currently, my incubator is filled with eggs from:
Black Copper Marans
Red Turken Naked Necks
F2 Blue copper Olive Egger
and white leghorn
All covered by my Blue Copper Marans Roo. This is my first incubation experience and I’m really not sure what to expect but...
How did the hatch go? I’m dying to see what came of your eggs! I currently have eggs from a NN by my French blue copper Marans roo in the incubator. Would love to see pics of your hatchlings!!!
Hi Y’ll! I’m in no way a newbie to raising chickens but am new to incubating my own eggs! I candled my eggs recently using an LED flashlight with new batteries. This egg is an F2 olive egger egg, bread back to Marans. I have an egg that I was hoping to get feedback on. Is this egg fertile? Is it...
My name is Dobby. I’m often told I’m a handsome guy and quite the looker! I’m quite fond of the ladies! I am a 6 month old Blue Copper Marans. Although I’m young, I rule the roost and earned my title as top Roo. I love strutting my feathers and being admired. Wattle strokes and pets are...
Thank you everyone! Shucks!!!! Very frusterating! Lol so my follow up question is, when it comes to breeding, I know you breed a dark layer roo to a blue egg layer hen. However, what if an olive egger roo is used instead? What would the eggs potentially look like?
