Same here i got fake eggs when mine were babies, and now they use the boxes with the eggs. If I swap them round they follow.

I dont know the answer to your question but i introduced 2 new hens to my flock yesterday and Im in the same boat as you. My rooster was less than welcoming.. his neck feathers stood on end like something out of jurassic park and the rest of the hens looked like ninja chickens as my son called...

Thankyou for your replies. I was pretty sure myself they were fertile but Im so new to this I wanted to check. My roo isnt even crowing yet, infact I was still secretly hoping he isnt a roo. I wonder why he doesnt crow Well my afternoon of cleaning now consists of an afternoon in the loft...
