BLUE ISBARS - Pictures and discussion

Has anyone ever gotten a lavender Isbar? I have a 2 month old chick who hasn't gotten any splash on it whatsoever and is totally lavender in color, not gray or silver. It doesn't look anything like my other splash Isbars, will it develop splashes of color after it's first molt? Out of 7 eggs...

The Ameraucana Thread: Where everything and anything about the breed can be discussed (APA, Non-Stan

Thanks, at least I know it's just her. Even as eggs Ameraucanas are expensive little birds and I was afraid of trying to hatch more. She gets along great with the flock but is not fond of people at all. Maybe next try I'll get more hens than roos and actually get to keep some.

The Ameraucana Thread: Where everything and anything about the breed can be discussed (APA, Non-Stan

I have 1 Black Ameraucana, she is 10 months old and went broody for the first time, so I put some eggs under her and when they hatched she ended up stomping them to death. Are Ameraucanas really that flighty or is it just inexperience? My EE's are way more docile and friendly, I suppose I just...

    to young to tell?

I agree, it really looks the same as all of my pullets looked, in my experience the even, more neutral colors tend to be pullet and the splotchy, flashy ones tend to be roos. They CAN surprise you but so far it looks like a she! :)

PROBLEMS with the POST OFFICE and shipping eggs? Email this agency!

I had a box of 10 baby chicks sent express and USPS lost the package for 2 days and badly damaged the box, 7 out of 10 babies were flat with broken necks and wings, my 3 survivors were in rough shape but they've made it for 2 weeks now. Basically it all got kicked back onto my local postmaster...

    My Funny Farm!

I have only started into chickens within the last year, but used this forum and MPC to learn what I needed when I unexpectedly ended up with 5 chickens who made their way back home. When I moved into my house I soon realized that the chickens who lived here found their way back, so I started...
