    Sebastopol Goose Incubation and Candeling

Nice!! Small world … Her eggs started hatching day 29. I manually hatched 2 of them because they were internally pipped for about 16 hours and one was already out so I created a safety hole being impaitent and scared I’d lose them, I think I shrink wrappped the membranes doing so even though my...

All three are out and alive. I did assist a shrink wrapped one, that was nerve racking, it’s the darker smaller one in the middle. The other two that hatched after the first one are definitely weaker, I hope they make it through the night lol.

Here’s your pictures first one out, other two still chirping in the egg. Thinking about assisting the smaller egg, waiting until the afternoon. the heaviest egg has always been a day behind so I’m going to leave it for today see what happens. the other two aren’t externally pipped yet, still...

Yesss I got my first PIP this morning on day 29. I made the tiniest pinhole in my unresponsive egg, 2 of 3 of my eggs have been rocking and wiggling for 2-3 days. The 3rd also my lightest one wasn’t active so I pulled it out today real quick and checked on it under the brooder and it was...

    Incubating shipped sebastopol geese eggs

I kind of journaled my hatch on here on another thread, it was my first time with goose eggs and they are Sebastopol, I’m on day 28 with 3/3 alive still. I started weighing on day 7 same time I started cooling and misting and stopped cooling and misting on day 26 and weighing helped me so much...

The lady I got my eggs from is selling more Sebastopol fertile eggs in Sacramento on Craigslist $30 an egg and I’m sure she’ll ship for an additional fee. She gave me 3 and all 3 alive day 28. She had a really nice set up. She had the biggest ostriches too I’ve ever seen she sells fertile...

I know yay! I’m so obsessed my kids aren’t even as interested as I am haha I went on YouTube and put gosling chirping sounds on and the eggs went crazy! I’m so ready to see that external pip. Day 27 almost over, I’m generally pretty patient but now im pretty excited I know once I see that...

    Sebastopol Goose Incubation and Candeling

You’re about right I woke up the next morning and the large egg caught up nicely and has a nice air cell now. They went into lockdown tonight (day 26), I can see them all three wiggling around in the shadow when I cancel and I can visibly see the eggs rocking in the incubator. I wasn’t planning...

    Sebastopol Goose Incubation and Candeling

Kebonix from amazon it has been decent for the price so far I did get my temp back up to 99 degrees, for whatever reason that day was having a hard time. Two of the three have a very nice dipped AirCell and have lost 10% of their weight so they've hit my minimum weight loss goal at day 25. The...

    Sebastopol Goose Incubation and Candeling

That is so good to know my incubator is tiny and couldn’t fit more that 4 goose eggs I think and the last three days for whatever reason my incubator it set to 99.5 but the thermometer I have in there has been reading 98.4 on average I think now the chicks are bigger it’s impacting my incubators...

Egg weights day 20: egg 1-174.3 egg 2- 184.6 egg 3-172.1 Goal weights for these eggs are roughly: 166, 174, and 164. If the eggs eg within 3 grams of these weight on day 28 I should have optimal exchange of gasses and air cell size. With 7 days until lockdown and final weigh in if they lose 1g...
