I'm curious do you know when the ducking first piped? I have never hatched ducks before and I know they say it can take a long time from pip to zip. I had one pip last night and wondering when I should expect to see more progress??
Last night I noticed one had piped and I can hear chirping. The other two have nothing so far but hatch day isn't until Sunday so here's to hoping I get more than just one! They are Anacona Duck eggs.
Well I could not wait any longer so I candled my Duck eggs (day 5) and YAY!!! all three are growing perfectly. I was worried as I got them from ebay...you know how shipped eggs can be, plus you never know what you get from ebay.
I'm putting a few Anacona Duck eggs in the bator this morning. I have never incubated Duck eggs before, lots of chicken eggs but no ducks. I am told they take about 28 days which is awesome as I just realized that brings to me right about Easter!! What could be a better time to hatch. I would...
I won't let them out during the storm either... i agree, I just tried to cover the run as much as I could so when the storm in over there won't be two feet of snow in their run. I'll do alot for them but I won't shovel 2 feet of snow for them...lol. Wish I thought of the flock block too late...
