Managed to get the run safe for the girls !! 3rd time we've tried to get it fully protected! Lost 3 of the 11 hens to heat last year but the remaining 8 are laying beautifully! 4 australorps, 2 black plymoth rock and 2 isa browns.

Definitely Australorps for me .. but then I may be just a little biased ! I’m just about to start my new flock .. getting some 12 month old Rhode Is Reds tomorrow then planning on adding more with day old Australorps in a few months when the first ones have settled. Grandkids are excited that...
