I was leaning toward pullets for 1 and 2 as well, but also thought their coloring wasn’t distinct enough to tell for sure. I had thought of breeding at some point if we produced a couple that were good enough quality to start with.
Thanks for your reply!
One of my hens hatched 5 CL chicks yesterday from hatching eggs. I’m pretty confident 3 and 4 are females (they also have very distinct eye markings), and 5 is a male. 1 and 2 are iffy to me.
This is my first time hatching Cream Legbars so I was hoping some of you with more experience with this...
Ideal Poultry! I’ve had pretty good luck with chicks from them but this one threw me off a little. Attached is a photo of one of his flock mates that I got at the same time. I wonder where his coloring came from!? He’s a sweet little guy.
She is also housed with over 20 other guineas and 30 plus chickens. I don’t think any other poultry have similar symptoms.
I have over 100 here. If it’s more likely that it is something contagious, I should consider moving her!
It was being fed Kalmback Flockmaker crumbles before I got it. Same thing in the bowl but I made it a mash. The water has Poultry Cell in it. I’m just trying to help her however I can at this point, if that’s possible. She was found infested in fire ants. Any ideas what may be the cause and if...
I am fostering a guinea fowl that was attacked by an army of fire ants a few days ago (it was brought to me today). The Guinea is eating, drinking, and is alert. It tries to scoot itself around and has use of its wings but can’t stand or walk. She seems ok, otherwise.
I’ve given it a dose of...
I know this is an old thread but maybe someone will jump in! I’m not sure about all the genetics on the red piles but so curious what I might get with a few that I’ve got! So, I’ve got 2 OEGB ROOS.. apparently one copy white (?) as they both have some black in their tail feathers and very faint...
I got 4 hens (3 of which are red breasted, and one solid white) and 2 Roos (which are almost identical) from the same breeder. Both Roos do have black in the tail feathers and some very small, slightly noticeable black markings on the chest.
I have a question about breeding my red Pyle OEGB rooster with my white OEGB hen. I have read different opinions on this subject and wondering if anyone out there could offer some any clarification on what these babies may end up looking like. Thanks in advance!
Can anyone tell me what’s going on here?? I’m assuming this is a late quitter but I would like to get opinions, please! All other chicks hatched last night through today. I went ahead and candled this one after the last hatch because it was questionable on day 18. I don’t want to put it back...
