    (Mini Project) Rainbow Laying Silkies.

You got to tell me how this went! This is my goal currently because colored laying silkies would be amazing! I have some whiting true blues I'm going to cross with my Frizzle rooster. I'm also going to cross some Silverrudds blues that lay speckled moss eggs!

I heard about the legbar mixed with the SRB. (Called ice cream bars) but I'm going to try breeding Whiting Creole hens to my SRB rooster. Hens that keep laying until the day they die? Say hi to the Deathlayer!

In order to get sex-linkage we must mate a gold plumage cock to a silver plumage hen. The female chick will take after the sire and be the same ‘gold’ colour and the male chick will take after the dame and be ‘silver’.

I have two that are growing in my coop outside I think they are approximately 7 to 8 weeks old. Maybe older. I'm thinking one of them is a rooster and one is a hen. The one I think is a rooster has some maroon coloring growing around it saddle area and has bigger waddles and comb. The one I...

    Silverudd's Blue age of laying

We just got our first Silverrudds Blue egg yesterday! I got her because she's a good winter layer and she lays a beautiful green speckled egg. The one we got is dark green with brown and white speckles! I have the green comparison next to our leghorn egg.

Olive Egger or Chocolate Amerucana Roo?

Got some Blue Eggs from Chocolate Amerucanas from a breeder nearby. Hatched them. The outcome would be either olive eggers or Chocolate Amerucanas. I was hoping to figure out which type of rooster this will be. His comb turned red at 3weeks old so definitely a rooster.
