Tisha with Chickenhill has very nice black bantam dottes. You can either google Chicken Hill or find her on BYC. I have bought several from her, she ships the with great care and they are quality birds.
I was wondering if anyone would like to see an APA show in Wyoming. If so I was thinking about starting a poultry club and trying to get a show here. I don't want to do it if there isn't any interest though.
No stacking, just in cartons, fat end up, 2 -18 packs and 2 dozen cartons and 1 dozen with a "4 pack" cut out of it. I cut the bottom of the cartons out for air circulation, it works well but I prefer the auto turner. I can't remember how many it holds with eggs on their sides

I've been running my hovabator at 100F as the instructions say (forced air) my last few hatches have been a day late. Should I increase the temp and if so how much?
I've put 64 in my hovabator, in egg cartons with the bottom cut out, then I just tilt the whole incubator side to side 3 times a day to turn the eggs. I put the end of the bator on an egg carton. Problem come with hatching there isn't room in there for chicks once they hatch, they have to walk...
Meyer's chicks have a tendency for pinker combs than the show quality chicks. The first group I got from them all had pink combs I was afraid they had sent me all males, they were all female. My show quality chick's combs are almost black until they sexually mature. I would definately wait a...
I move 30 chicks out yesterday. 25 chicks hatched with 21 more on the way, I just love spring and since I can't have baby horses any more I substitute chicks!!
I got a shipment of chicks in Feb, the tracking info didn't appear until after I picked them up. I was so stressed out!
What is the point of tracking if they don't actually do it!
I had a chick hatch early yesterday, it did full absorb the yolk and got gunk all over the other eggs. Some of them are completely covered with blood, and yolk.
Should I attempt to wipe some of it off or just leave it?
The chick is doing great, go figure.
I don't know the answer to that. I'm getting my first bunch of bantam Wyandottes this April so I'm sure I'll find out. From my experience with other bantam breeds, bantams tend to be more broody than large fowl.
