This is only about 1/4 to 1/3 of the brooder. They weren't going to the "dark side" (other side of fhe waterer) so they must have been in the just-right zone. :D Seriously, I do believe they are happy with the heat. They are not huddled together trying to keep warm; they are moving about...

Just hatched beginning yesterday. Still have a few eggs pipped. Fingers crossed that the incubator doesn't spike again (did it last week and again today).

I hatch my own now. I can get my chick fix without the feed stores. LOL CG

Sorry to come to the convo late (been busy week and next week will be too) but I buy my feed at Jefferson City MFA 50# Layer's Pellets for less than $9 per bag. I agree, best prices in town at the MFA vs. Tractor Supply or Orschlen's .
