I have all black and blue coppers as well as a few splash hens. I bought some hens from a local breeder and had my mom pick them up and bring them to me, when they got here 3 of them (2 black 1 blue) have NO copper. She can't tell me if they have any copper in their background. Should I just...
Yes, we hope that will be the case. They are 7 and 13 month old corgis and so "herding" is so much fun, then they catch them and pull their feathers out. They are good when we are there, but can't be trusted alone, and unfortunately they have access to the yard through the doggy door...
okay, thank you for clarifying!!! I was wondering how the heck I was gonna get rid of it, and its so pretty I didn't think I wanted to! Glad to know my girls are on the right track!
So, I know that the black coppers are not supposed to have a green sheen to them, but all of mine do. There is no mossiness and they have a good amount of copper, I am just not sure how to breed out the green sheen.

I will see if I have any full profile pics of her, she does in person have a more sloping topline. She is a big girl and I can't wait to see her mature. Its been a process to get cuckoos with feathered shanks and I am sure they will continue to be a project.
I am hoping that I can get opinions and critique of this 4 month old pullet. She ha not started laying yet so I am not sure what color her eggs will be. She has adequate foot/shank feathering
I have been away from byc for sometime now, and I am just starting to get back ino my birds. I just have a few but I wanted to share my favorite blue copper hen. She is not prefect but she lays beautiful eggs! I bought her from pinkchick 3 or 4 years ago!
