I’ve been so busy with my hatches/growouts this year that I completely forgot the 2025 calendar contest! I got so excited when I went looking through the open contests I squealed :celebrate:celebrate
I can’t wait to look through all the entries that have been made so far and to post some of my...
Thank you all for your thoughts on him!! I’m excited to have him be apart of my flock :love
I’m hoping after these few days of rain I can give him a nice bath and dry him up before sending him back outside with the others. He’s really liking the small bantam pullets I took out there and...
Here are some more photos, close up of the comb, legs, and a better body shot as well from last night.
Unfortunately the cold weather we had come in prevents me from bathing him currently :hmm
I thought that too but the lack of feathers on the legs I’d have to think HorseGirlAbby is right with it being a few generations back the D’Uccle was in there
He definitely needs a bath and it looks as if they cut his feathers or he was in a tiny cage for the beginning on his life...
Hey all!
I picked up this adorable little bantam at the auction I frequent. Hoping someone can narrow down what bantam I have possibly?
I believe they could be a Belgian D’Anver ? But they also have some slight feathering coming in on the legs so I’m unsure of it truly is or not :idunno...
I’ve been loving on everyone’s posts with their adorable chicks waiting for mine to finish hatching!!
Thankfully we finished on Sunday :celebrate Only had to help 2 chicks in total out of everyone that hatched, only after they externally pipped. The ones that didn’t make it to hatch...
I got so excited about everyone’s posts about their chicks and posting my chicks, that I forgot to update on Incubator B (ft C )!
Out of 70 set eggs (2 incubators), we have another 26 going into lockdown today! More babies to come for Saturday :jumpy
Only two had to be taken out from this...
Incubator A had finished hatching on April 1st! Look at all these cute Easter Eggers/Blue Eggers :love
Baby #6 was an assisted hatch as the chick popped halfway down the shell towards the pointed end of the egg. External pip happened over 12 hours before I assisted. Initially, all I did was...
So far as of last night at 9:27PM, babies #3 and #4 had made it out of their shells!
With #5 making it out while I was sleeping and #6 having their external pip being done last night halfway down the egg. It’s the middle egg in the photo, you can tell above the calcium deposit that’s where the...
Of course I was sleeping when baby #2 decided to make an appearance!
This is the CCL egg and can definitely tell by the down feathers, a little light partridge coloured! This one actually may have a beard as well which means it’s most likely covered by the Wheaten Ameraucana rooster I had while...
It’s happening!!!
We have baby #1 as of 11:40PM March 30th, Happy Easter everyone!! :jumpy:wee
This one is from a Wheaten Ameraucana egg based on the down and that it looks as if it might have a beard/muffs :love
I ended up moving baby #1 and the other two eggs that have started to pip into a...
My internet has been hit and miss these last few days and I was out of data to do updates and catch up on everyone’s posts :barnie
Incubator A with the blue eggs went into lockdown the other day and we already have one working on an external pip!! I’m so excited for fresh babies again, I can’t...
Hey all!
I got some Silkies at an auction this weekend and not much is know about besides I’m pretty sure I have a hen and a roo for the darker colouring I got. I’m just not too sure what that colouring is?
Hoping some others could help me decide if they are Silver Partridge or maybe...
Incubator C did better than Incubator B for candling on Day 05, I’ll say that much.. Although I didn’t give myself the best chance with viability due to me holding the eggs longer than should be kept, it’s still not a half bad number considering one hens eggs weren’t viable at all due to her not...
