Do my hen got out of her coop this morning while I was at school and was out all day without access to water and she's not looking too good. She's acting like she's sleepy and her comb is folded over. I'm very worried so does anybody have any advice about to rehydrate her quickly?
Edit: I got...
So recently I noticed little white spots on my chickens ear and this week it turned almost completely white. It doesn't seem to be affecting her health at all but I'm wondering if it's something to be concerned about. She is a barnvelder if your wondering the breed.
So my hen recently laid her first egg (whoohoo!!) But I've noticed her poop has increased dramatically in size and I want to know if this if normal or not. Besides that, she has healthy looking eggs.
Texas summers suck. The last month has been incredibly hot out and I noticed something was up with the chickens poop. I've made sure the chicken coop was prepared for heat by giving the chickens extra shade, water, dust ( for dust baths ) and even put a heavy duty fan out for them. They seem to...
So I noticed inflamed spots showing up on my roosters comb and wattle, and I looked it up and I think it's fowl pox, and it spread to my other cockrel and pullet. Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong and what I should do to treat it.
So I recently got 3 new chicks and need some help sexing them. They're a little over a month old and mixed breed. I think the dark red one might be a roo because his comb is bigger than the others, but I've heard pullets tend to grow in their tails faster. Not sure if it's true, but I'm really...
We actually hatched these chicks from our school flock, and the ag teacher has no idea what breeds we have. Only reason is guessed Ameraucauna is because that's the only breed I can find that matches his pattern lol.
So I'm not entirely sure what breed of chicken I got since the place I got them from has a few different breeds from which this chicken could have came from. My guess so far is a grey Ameraucauna, ( apologies if I spelled that wrong ) possibly mixed with something else, but what do you think?
