I bought 5 Pekin Ducks last June, (4 female, one male) & was told they were 3 months old. They looked full grown.
Never had Pekin Ducks, figured like Chickens, by 5 months they would start laying. One did in August, but has tapered off during the winter. However, the other hens never produced...
I did gradually mix the rainbow chicks in with my hens, & the first week they all got along fine. Now I wonder if they were all pullets, as I caught one of the largest rainbow chicks jumping one of my mature hens. Normally only a rooster jumps a hen like that. Any suggestions?
I think I'll try putting them in with my blind hen in the smaller coop, & see how they do. The chicken run is divided, so the adult hens can see them, but not get to them. It's been 70-80 degree's during the day, & 50's at night. Thank you both!
And their growing up fast! When can I put them out in the Coop with my mature hens? I'm quickly running out of space, & they clearly want more leg room. Thanks!
